- Hands-on Workshops – Practical sessions tackling real challenges:
- Automating the right services responsibly
- Building trust with residents through data
- Designing citizen-friendly digital platforms
- Unconference Sessions – You set the agenda. Space to explore the burning issues your teams face, with peers who’ve faced the same.
LocalGovCamp: An unconference for local government
LocalGovCamp is the largest and longest running unconference for UK Local Government. First held in 2009, it has been organised by LocalGov Digital since 2014.
It’s been described as a festival for local government, and over the years has been attended by some of the most innovative and influential people in local government digital.
Whats an unconference?
An unconference is a ‘participant-driven’ meeting, where everyone attending has the option of pitching a topic for discussion or actively taking part in sessions. This means the agenda is decided on the day by participants.
Who should attend?
Anyone and everyone who is involved in local government – whether it’s part of your job description to create and deliver digital services, you’re working to transform the way things are done in a service area, you’re a senior leader or an elected member your voice and experience is what makes LocalGovCamp so important and useful.
But we can’t work in isolation so community, third sector, activists and citizens are also welcome.
There will also be tickets available to freelancers and private sector suppliers, and people who don’t think they fit into any of these categories but are passionate and interested in local government.
LocalGovCamp often has a digital focus but it is not a tech event – we believe that digital transformation is mostly about culture change and that technology has an enabling role in that. Whether you’re involved in digital or not, if you care about public services then LocalGovCamp is the event for you.
