You’ve probably heard about this year’s LocalGovCamp. It’s on 21 June in Birmingham and you can read more about what’s going on here. This year, for the first time there are also fringe events happening the day before, Friday 20 June.
LGMakers, the network for developers and designers from LocalGov Digital, will be holding a hack day in partnership with innovation charity Nesta. The event runs from 10am to 4pm on 20 June at the Bond Company in Birmingham with the finale crossing over with the Digital Leadership fringe event.
Delegates from the Digital Leadership event – including senior local government officers and councillors – will join the Hack Event to watch the presentations and there will then be a chance for participants from both events to network during a drinks reception.
If you’re a digital do-er who makes stuff for local governments then why not come along and help to solve problems faced by people who use public services. Entry is by ticket only, but the good news is they’re free and refreshments are provided throughout the day.
If you can’t attend on the day, there’ll be coverage on YouTube and other ways to join in online, so it’s worth keeping the day free.
LocalGovCamp 2014 and Fringe
The LGMakers’ Hack Day is presented in partnership with Nesta but there are a number of other organisations sponsoring and supporting the two days of events so we can keep them free for all attendees.
